Homework will come home on Monday in the homework folder and is due on Friday. For the first week your child's "homework" will simply be to return the folder everyday. The next few weeks will be preparing for their share day (see Share post) and name writing practice. You can also start (if you don't already) reading everynight at home and coloring that day on your calendar. Red for reading TO your child. Yellow for reading WITH your child and green for if your child reads BY themselves. We don't expect to see any green until we send home some little paper teacher made books. When you get those make sure your child reads them as often as possible. If you ever lose a calendar, you can reprint one at home from starfall.com
Although all the homework will come home on one night, we strongly encourage you to follow this schedule.
Monday: School to Home Connection & Prepare for your Share Day
Tuesday: Math pg.
Wednesday:Letter Writing Practice Page
Thursday: Read the little book that comes home and color the day on your calendar green if you read it to your family.
Turn in everything stapled together on Friday for a homework award.
Also on Friday... Spirit Day (Wear red, white or blue)!

Do we turn homework in everyday or just the end of the week?
I prefer to have all the homework on Friday stapled together, but whatever works best for you. The idea in giving it to you all at once is so that you have the convenience of being flexible with your schedule. While it is important to establish a nightly homework routine, spending about 5-10 min on homework a night, I understand that LIFE happens and you may occasionally need to skip a night (yikes!:)) and catch up on another. I just want you to avoid trying to get it all done over breakfast Friday morning. And NEVER EVER do your child's homework for them. If they refuse to do it, then they lose their prize. If it's too hard let me know & I will come up with an alternative. Thanks so much for your patience and determination with this!
