This Week's Share

Click Here to download a printable share page for this week.

Sharing is an important time for Kindergarteners. Not only do they have the undivided attention of their teacher and classmates, but they are also practicing valuable speaking and listening skills and growing more confident in their abilities.

Sharing consists of...
1. Opening Introduction (" Hi. My name is ______and today I will be sharing _______")
2. Sharing informartion in a clear, audible voice
3. Clarifying ("Do you have any questions?")
4. Closing ("Thanks for listening. If you have any more questions, you can meet me at the lunch table.)

To help your child at home...
1. Make sure they do their best work on the share page (that means color!)These pages will be saved and assembled into a scrapbook at the end of the year.
2. Help them practice at home in front of an audience of family members, pets or stuffed animals.
3. Applaud their efforts. (Think Paula not Simon)

Free Share. Put your share in a bag with your name on so that it is a secret. Think of 3 clues to help us guess what it is. Write these sentences on your share page. Draw a picture to go with it or we can take a picture of your share in class. Some possible clues are: What shape, color or size is it? What is it used for? Where did you get it? What do you do with it?
