Feb Events

Dear Parents,

Here is more information on the events happening in February.

Feb. 12th Valentine's Day:
Students may bring in Valentine's (Wednesday or Thursday) for each student in the class. This is not mandatory, but if you choose to, please have your child place each valentine in an envelope and number each envelope for each student (1-24) as that is how they will be delivered. This is a wonderful activity to practice writing numbers so please let the children do the writing themselves. We will be making Valentine's cards for family members, having a “red” snack, and opening our valentines in class. There will be a sign up in the window for snacks and help. We also have attached the class roster.

Feb. 25th
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school. We have four centers for the students to complete so we will definitely need plenty of parent volunteers for this event! :)

We will be sending home a paper bag, in which you may help your child collect 100 items (that you do not want back). They can be anything; for example: paperclips, erasers, cheerios, pennies, washers, or straws. In class we will glue them to a big board. Try to find 100 of the same item, but if you can't, make it groups of ten same items. Share for the week will be having the class guess what you brought without showing them.

We will also making a 100th day snack. We need enough of each thing for each child to count out ten. If you can please sign up to bring one of the following:
M&Ms
Raisins
Pretzel Sticks
Mini-Marshmallows
Chex
Nuts
Goldfish Crackers
sunflower seeds
chocolate chips
Cereal-like cheerios or fruit loops

If you have any questions about these events, or would like to help, please let us know.
